Borno IDPs: Dangote donates 2 Billion Naira, partner to provide feeding in Ramadan

Gov. Kashim Shettima of Borno state on Monday received Alhaji Aliko Dangote who was in the state to personally visit IDP camps and commiserate them over their plight as a result of Boko Haram insurgency. He said that the Dangote Foundation will collaborate with the Borno state Government to determine the immediate needs of the IDPs to enable the Foundation adequately response to it and, equallypromised to contact other well-meaning people toassist the IDPs.Subsequently, he said the sum of 2 Billion naira was set aside by the Dangote Foundation for immediate intervention which will largely be invested in fighting hunger and educational development of the IDPs.Furthermore, he made another seperate pledge tocompliment the efforts of the Borno state Government in feeding the IDPs throughout the month of Ramadan.Gov. Shettima while thanking Dangote also acknowledged several contributions made by the business mogul in the past which includes a donation of 400 Million Naira to 40 thousand families in the state and a donation of several food stuff during the last Ramadan.In his remarks during a courtesy call, the Shehu of Borno Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-kanemi thank Alhaji Aliko Dangote for the gesture and prayed for Allah to reward him abundantly.Gov. Shettima accompanied Dangote and the members of his Foundation to Dalori and Bakasi camps both situated in Maiduguri and to the Shehu's palace where he met with traditional rulers.Alhaji Dangote has since returned to Lagos with apromise return often to bring more assistance forthe IDPs.Source: Yusuf Usman Shettima
