Families of fallen heroes to get N4.3m Bauchi State Governor


Bauchi State Government in conjunction with military formations in the state realised N4.3 million during the armed forces remembering week, according to the governor, Alhaji Muhammed Abubakar.
Abubakar, disclosed this at the 33 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army, Bauchi, while speaking to newsmen on the activities of the week on Saturday.
The governor was, however, represented by Commissioner for Religious
Abubakar said that the money would be used to better the lives of families of fallen heroes and legionnaires in the state.
He said that special Friday services had been held to be followed by Sunday service, for the souls of the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country.
The governor prayed God to forgive the fallen heroes and did so for President Muhammadu Buhari, to enable him move the country forward.

He commended the military personnel for their gallantry performance in curbing insurgency in the North-East.
Abubakar pledged that the state government would employ families of fallen heroes and retirees in the military.
AVM Sani Ahmed, Commanding Officer, Air Force Base, Bauchi, who spoke on behalf of members of the armed forces in the state, commended the armed forces for ensuring the peaceful co-existence of the country.
Ahmed said that the armed forces had participated in both international and national activities for humanity.
He urged philanthropists and charity organisations to contribute toward the welfare of the families of fallen heroes and retirees to enable them have sense of belonging.
Capt. Musa Yakubu (rtd), Chairman, Bauchi State Chapter of Nigerian Legion prayed for the souls of the deceased.
Yakubu also assured that the money realised would be used to better the lives of families of the fallen heroes and retirees in the state.
He commended the state government for assisting the legion in the state.
