Governor Bagudu Calls On KEBBI Youth To Register For N-POWER National Programme

Kebbi State Government has expressed dissatisfaction about the low turnout of unemployed youth across the state to register for the N-Power programme of the Federal Government which provides employment opportunity.

​A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abubakar Mu’azu Dakingari says, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu expressed anger for lack of commitment from indigenes of the state to benefit from the programme inspite of alarming rate of unemployment in the state.

​The Governor who addressed prospective applicants at the palace of the Emir of Gwandu said his administration would henceforth not provide job opportunities to anybody who failed to register for the N-Power programme.

He however gave an assurance that the government would offer employment to all those who were not opportuned to secure jobs under the federal government.

​In his remark, the Emir of Gwandu Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar commended the State Government for assisting youth in the state to gain employment.

​The Emir affirmed the support and cooperation of traditional rulers towards the success of the programme, saying in his capacity as the Chairman of the State Council of Chiefs, he would mobilize traditional rulers and community leaders to encourage unemployed youth to embrace the programme.

​Alhaji Muhammadu Ilyasu Bashar expressed displeasure about the poor turnout of youth and appealed to all and sundry to turn out for the scheme like their counterparts in other states.

​In his address, the political adviser to the Governor, Alhaji Yusuf Haruan Rasheed announced that a registration centre has been set up to assist applicants have easy access to N-Power registration.

​Alhaji Yusuf Haruna Rasheed said the state government has made available five thousand naira to each registered applicant as assistance to off-set internet charges and transportation costs.
