NITDA to sanitize Nigeria’s IT Sector- Dr Pantami

In a bid to assert its Mandate as the regulatory body for Information Technology (IT) in Nigeria, to rid corruption from the sector, to ensure that IT is not used as a conduit for siphoning public funds in the Country, the Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami FBCS today led some Management Staff of the Agency to a working visit to the Office of the Auditor General of the Federation (OAuGF).
Dr Pantami while commenting, solicited for collaboration with OAuGF in auditing IT projects being executed by MDAs in Nigeria, adding that NITDA is the clearing house for all IT projects in the Country.

Pantami lamented on the high rate at which IT is being used by MDAs as a disguise to reap the Nation of its resources, “Our intervention at NITDA in a proposed IT project by an MDA only recently saved the nation 500 Million Naira,” he said
The DG informed that under his stewardship, NITDA has so far implemented 90% of the recommendations of the last Audit report sent to it by the OAuGF, the first time such feat is being achieved in the Agency since its inception.
