Dr. Tsenba Wummen Bako, younger brother to Governor Simon Bako Lalong laid to rest in Plateau

Remarks by His Excellency, Governor Kashim Shettima at the burial of Dr. Tsenba Wummen Bako, younger brother to Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State.
As aptly captured in the brochure, the quotation by Abraham Lincoln, where he said "In the end, it is not the years in your life that counts, it is the lives in your years that counts".
We lost a brother, who was a paragon of humility, diligence, and commitment, and who left footprints on the sands of time.
On behalf of the Governors of the 19 Northern States, and on behalf of all the Governors of the 36 States of the Federation, we wish to commisserate with our brother, with our friend, with our contemporary Governor, Simon Bako Lalong over the untimely loss of his brother, our brother, our son, Dr. Tsenba Wummen Bako Lalong.

May God grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The community here, the Ajikamai community may not appreciate the quality of the person they have presented to Nigeria as the Governor of Plateau State. For the greater part of the current democratic dispensation, Plateau was boiling, Plateau was in crisis. Sir Fidelis Tapgun has done his best, my very good friend,
Joshua Chibi Dariye had equally done his best. But the crowning glory goes to Governor Simon Bako Lalong who brought about peace in the Plateau.
We want to thank him, we want to commend him for his exemplary leadership, for his generousity of spirit.
This is actually a burial not a political platform, but as Galileo Galilei rightly said, we are all political animals.
Whatever it is, we have to chip in a little bit of politics.
We want to commisserate with the Bako Lalong family, and the Ajikamai community over the loss of an illustrous son who lived for only 46 years. But as captured by the elder brother, he lived such an exemplary intense committed life that even people who lived for the ripe old age of 96 could not have accomplished, but he was able to do in his eventful 46 years of existence here on earth.
We want to once again thank the people of Plateau, the people of Ajikamai for the wonderful hospitality showered on us, and may his soul rest in peace.
Thank you so much, and may God Bless us all.
