Gov Jibrilla Bindow sues for continued prayers as Adamawa community hosts Atiku Abubakar

Last night, the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel, in Abuja, was agog with crème de la crème of Adamawa state.

They converged to be part of a grand reception  in honour of former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, following his promotion from the traditional title of Turaki to that of Waziri, by the Lamido of Adamawa.

In his brief remark as special guest of honour, the Governor of Adamawa state, Sen Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow, described the new Waziri as a true son of Adamawa state who has contributed, in no small measure, to the rapid growth of Adamawa state and the country in general.

He noted that the traditional title of Waziri, which is equivalent to a prime minister, is well deserved by the former vice president.

Sen Bindow used the occasion to reiterate the need for continued prayers for president Muhammadu Buhari for what he said was the good work the president is doing for the nation.

The new Wazirin Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar took the audience down memory lane with a solemn roll call of the fallen heroes of Adamawa state, whom he described as selfless and dedicated people "who laid their lives for the unity of Nigeria".

He mentioned the likes of 1st republic defence minister, Rubadu, late general Gibson Jallo, late Air Vice Marshall Ibrahim Alfa, late major TW Hunohashi popularly known as Hauka Da Bori as well as the likes of former IGP Gambo Jimeta,  Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, amongst many heroes of Adamawa state whose immense contributions, he said,  cannot be forgoten or wished away.

The new Waziri used the opportunity provided by the event to dispel rumour making rounds that there is political friction between him and the Governor of Adamawa state. He said no such thing exists.

He therefore urged all citizens of Adamawa state not to relent in there support for the Bindow-led administration in its determined effort to provide dividends of good governance for the people.

The grand reception was organised by Adamawa Community Association, Abuja, with former federal head of service, Alhaji Sali, as it's chairman.
