Kano State signs N428m road contract


The Kano State Government says it has signed a N428 million contract to provide quality road network for the state.
Alhaji Shehu Haruna, the state Commissioner for Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport, made the disclosure in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday in Kano.
Haruna said the amount was for the award of contract for the construction of the first phase of Gidan Zakkah in Aminu Kano road to Kofar Waika axis.

While the second phase would link the Kofa Waika road up to Dawakin Tofa local government area.
The commissioner said that part of the terms and condition of the contract included the landscaping and provision of electrical works for the new Fanshekara road underpass.
Haruna noted that the state government was committed in its efforts to provide basic and social infrastructure for use of the people.
He added that the Madobi road underpass had been completed and government was already providing landscaping and electricity to ensure safety and security of people at night on the Fanshekara underpass.
The commissioner appealed to the contractors to speedily execute quality job in compliance with terms and conditions of the contractual agreement.
