Kebbi Ranked Best Performing State At 99.7% By Day 5 Of Measles Vaccination Campaign

The Nigerian Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) has ranked Kebbi State FIRST in performance in the implementation of the measles vaccination campaign in the North-West Zone which commenced on November 9th, 2017.
It can be recalled that His Excellency, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was the first to release N22 million as counterpart funding for the 2017 campaign with a target to vaccinate 850,000 children aged between nine to fifty nine months.

He also personally flagged off the campaign in Bagudo LG with his wife Dr Zainab Atiku Bagudu alongside other political, traditional and religious leaders. The governors wife has since visited Augie, Koko and Zuru local governments mobilizing, participating and motivating citizens and personnel in the campaign. The advocacy is being championed at LG level by wives of chairmen.

The Executive Secretary, Kebbi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Munir Jega announced on Saturday that 1131 teams were trained and deployed to conduct the exercise. It is expected that if the health team continues with the current trend, there will be significant improvement in the immunization level of Kebbi state which currently unacceptably sits below 20%.
