Sigma Pensions Donates Medical Equipment to Kaduna Eye Centre


Sigma Pensions Limited has donated drugs and medical equipment to the National Eye Centre, Kaduna.
The company also renovated the emergency unit of the hospital and provided it with visitors’ chairs.
Making the donations on Wednesday at the centre, Chief Compliance Officer of Sigma Pensions, Mrs. Nafisa Mohammed, said the donations were part of the cooperate social responsibility of the company.

She said as a pension administrator, Sigma was determined to contribute its quota to better the lives of the people.
She said the drugs and the equipment were to help the centre in rendering services to the people.
“We tried to do our own beat as it were, towards helping the centre. It is a partnership and we felt we need to give back at our own level.
“We refurbished the emergency wing of the eye centre. We provided visitors chairs. We provided some equipment and drugs for the emergency unit,” she said.
According to her, the items donated were among some of the necessities of the centre.
She said the centre provided a list of the essential things that are required to provide efficient services, adding the medical equipment and drugs were part of the list.
She said as a national organisation, Sigma Pensions is involved with every state in the country with a view to assist various communities.
“The aim is to work within various communities to try and see how we can give back. This is just one of them.
We have done our little bid and we hope that God will give us the grace and the ability to do more in future” she said in an interview with journalists shortly after presenting the donations.
According to her, “the Eye Centre employs individuals, the pension administrator provides services that look after individuals, we invest the funds of employees so that when they retired, they can access funds.
“The Eye Centre is an employer that we relate with. We know some of our costumers visit the eye centre, so providing them with the necessary equipment will go a long way in making their services more accessible to the people” she said.
